In this article we delve into the fascinating world of Sciacchetr\u00e0, exploring its origins, the winemaking techniques and its unexpected properties in the field of cosmetics to counteract cellular aging.<\/p>\n
The heart and soul of Sciacchetr\u00e0 reside in the grapes used for its production. This wine is typically produced from a blend of three native vines: Bosco, Vermentino and Albarola. These grapes, grown in the narrow terraces of the Cinque Terre, are meticulously hand harvested, contributing to the exceptional quality of the wine.
The grapes are left to dry on racks or hung from beams, until they reach such a concentration of sugars that they are transformed into a very sweet nectar. The grapes are delicately pressed and the juice fermented and aged in small oak barrels for a minimum of two years, to ensure that the wine can develop its distinctive character: an attractive amber hue, complex aroma with hints of dired fruit, honey and a harmonious balance of sweetness and acidity.<\/p>\n
We discovered that a particular blend of Cinque Terre grapes – Vermentino, Bosco, Albarola – with which Sciacchetr\u00e0 is also obtained, owns a very high concentration of polyphenols and antioxidant substances. The vines, in fact, are subjected to intense climatic and atmospheric conditions, which stimulate the production of protective substances.
Our laboratory tests have shown that our Cinque Terre grape extract reduces the number of cells subject to oxidative stress by almost 80%. A discovery that allowed us to file a patent for both the extraction method and the composition of the extract, from which the Dionisia cosmetic line was born.<\/p>\n
